Privacy policy
Last updated 31 October 2026
APP POP LLC, 4490 Riverwood Avenue, Sarasota, FL 34231, runs Map Views. This policy covers two groups of people: members, who use Map Views, and property owners, whose names appear in the public records it shows.
Members: what we keep
- Your account: your email address and a password stored only as a hash, or the name and email Google or Apple pass us when you sign in with them. Kept by Supabase Auth.
- Billing: your plan, its dates and status, and the customer number Stripe gives us. Your card details stay with Stripe; we never see the full number.
- What you add: notes, sites, drawings, saved searches and lists, uploaded layers, teams and the email addresses you invite to them, map settings and feedback.
- What you do: the properties you opened in the last 90 days (so you can find them again), and counts of your searches, reports and exports (to apply the rate limits and the 1,000-a-day export cap).
- Technical data: IP address, browser and request times in Cloudflare's and Supabase's logs, for security, abuse prevention and fixing errors. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page visits without cookies and without identifying you.
We use no advertising, no tracking pixels and no session recording. We do not sell or share your personal information, for advertising or anything else, and we do not use it to train AI models. We email you only about your account and billing, never marketing.
Contacts you type into your notes
Map Views supplies no phone numbers or email addresses. If you type or import someone's contact details into your notes, we keep them for you, private to you and the team you share them with. We never add them to our data, look at them except as our terms allow, or use them for anything else, and we delete them with your account. Someone whose details a member saved should ask that member; if they ask us, we pass the request on.
Who else receives data
- The providers that run Map Views for us, each under its own security and privacy terms: Supabase (our database, sign-in and account emails, in the United States), Cloudflare (hosting, network security, analytics and, when switched on, Turnstile bot checks), Stripe (payments) and, if you sign in with them, Google or Apple.
- Public services your browser asks directly as you use the map: an address you type into search goes to the U.S. Census Bureau's geocoder; base map tiles come from OpenFreeMap; aerial and other layers come from the county, state and federal servers that publish them; and opening a company's Sunbiz record sends its name to the Florida Division of Corporations. They see your IP address and the area or name asked for, as with any website.
- When the law requires it, such as a valid subpoena or court order, or to protect people from harm. And a buyer of Map Views, who must keep this policy.
We may publish counts that identify no one, such as how many parcels members opened in a month.
Cookies, local storage and your location
Map Views keeps your sign-in session and map settings (layers, last place) in your browser's local storage. Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout pages, and Cloudflare may set security cookies. All are needed for the site to work; we set no advertising or analytics cookies, so there is nothing to opt out of and no banner. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a request not to sell or share, which we never do anyway.
If you press the map's locate button, your browser asks your permission and gives the position to the map on your device to centre it there. We do not store it.
How long we keep it
While your account is open. When it is closed, we delete your account and everything you added within 30 days, except what the law makes us keep: billing and tax records (with Stripe) for up to 7 years. Opened properties drop off after 90 days. Our providers' logs are kept for their own short periods.
Your choices and rights
You can see and change your details and cancel in Account. To ask for a copy of your data, a correction or the deletion of your account, write to us through our privacy request form, giving the email you sign in with and saying "My Map Views account" in place of the property. We check the request comes from you by answering at that email, and we answer within 30 days, wherever you live. Someone you authorize in writing may ask for you. If we refuse, we say why, and you may ask us to look again.
Security
Passwords are hashed, every connection is encrypted, and each member's rows are walled off from other members' in the database. If a breach exposes your personal information, we tell you within 30 days, and the Florida Attorney General when the law requires it (s. 501.171, Florida Statutes).
Children and other countries
Map Views is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information. It is offered in the United States and its data is kept in the United States.
Property owners
Map Views shows the owner name and mailing address that county property appraisers publish on the tax roll, sales recorded by county clerks, and company filings with the Florida Division of Corporations. These are public records under Chapter 119, Florida Statutes. We do not collect owners' phone numbers or email addresses, buy data from data brokers, or build profiles of people.
Owners whose details Florida law exempts from public records are withheld by the counties and the state before we receive the roll, and we follow newer county withholdings when we refresh. Anyone can ask us to hide their name and mailing address: Hide your name from Map Views. We act within 72 hours, and keep a record of the request for as long as the name stays hidden.
Changes and contact
We post changes here with a new date, and email members about a material change before it applies. Questions: APP POP LLC, 4490 Riverwood Avenue, Sarasota, FL 34231, or write to us through our privacy request form.
